Experience the Musquodoboit River
We've created a collection of thoughtfully curated routes and experiences to help you enjoy the Musquodoboit River during a self-guided paddle. From easy half and full day paddles to overnight trips, riverside picnics, and scenic hikes, there is something for everyone!
To get started, choose your boat(s), a route, and add anything extra you'd like to your experience like one of our riverside picnics. Then complete the booking request form and we'll get back to you within 24 hours to confirm the details. If you aren't sure what to choose we are always happy to chat through options and your preferences to help you find the perfect paddle.
On the day of your paddle, you'll meet us at the end location. We'll shuttle you upriver to your launch point so you can paddle downstream, with your vehicle waiting for you when you finish. Your rental includes all paddling gear, delivery, and shuttle service so you can simply show up and enjoy the experience.
Choose Your Boat...

Kayaks
Perfect for couples, friends, and social paddling. You'll travel side-by-side and enjoy the experience together.
Our Old Town Vapour 10XT kayaks are easy to handle, stable, and great for beginners. Kayaks are lighter, more maneuverable, better in wind, and well-suited for shallow water compared to canoes.
$45 per kayak/day

Canoes
Our Old Town canoes are great options if you need more space or are planning a longer trip. Ideal for bringing kids, pets, or extra gear along for the ride.
Canoes are easier to get in and out and offer a comfortable ride. They do require teamwork and coordination between paddlers for a smooth ride, but working together is part of the fun.
$65 per canoe/day or $110 for weekend
Choose Your Route...
The routes we have chosen are calm and slow-moving. Perfect for all ages and skill levels including beginners. Most trips take 3 to 5 hours, depending on your route, pace, and how often you stop to swim, snack, or take in the scenery. We can also work with you to create a custom paddle that perfectly meets your needs.

Elderbank
Our most popular route for good reason. A laid-back paddle through a beautiful, forested stretch of river. Lots of great spots to pull over and take in the scenery. Ample parking at launch and exit.
👉 Perfect for pairing with our riverside picnic, camping, or groups. Keep an eye out for the Highland cows near the end.

Meaghers Grant
Nolan and Stef's favorite and the one we choose to show off the river. A stunning forested stretch with views of the granite uplands rising above the valley.
👉 One of our most flexible routes with multiple access points. A great option for overnight trips or pairing your paddle with the Gibraltar Rock Loop hike.

Claypools
A scenic, winding stretch of river with high banks, sandy beaches, and plenty of spots to pull over and enjoy the surroundings. Paddle under an old metal train bridge along the way for an added touch of whimsy.
👉 Perfect for pairing with our riverside picnic.
