Musquodoboit River Social Paddle
July 5th

Connect and socialize with fellow paddlers while enjoying the serene beauty of the Musquodoboit River.

All rentals and shuttles must be booked in advance (See below). Registering for the event lets us know you’re coming, but it doesn’t reserve a boat or shuttle.

Elderbank Provincial Park (Google Map Link).

Dave's Landing on Wyse Road (Google Map Link).

Trip Length and Description

Approximately 12.5 kms. Expect between 3 and 5 hours to complete depending on paddling speed and water levels. Full route description here: https://www.mvoutfitters.ca/elderbank.

Alternate River Access Locations

If you want/need to shorten your trip, Streatch's Bridge is a good river access point and is located approximately half way between the launch and end points (Google Map Link)​​

Parking

Launch: There are a limited number of parking spots at Elderbank Provincial Park. Additional parking, within eye sight of the Park, is available at Saint Andrew's United Church (Google Map Link).

​

End: Lots of road side parking available, on both sides of the road, near Dave's Landing on Wyse Road. 

​

Shuttle Service

Musgo Rider and MVOutfitters will provide a shuttle service  between the two parks the morning of July 5th. Seats must be reserved in advance and are limited. Folks who are using the shuttle service can drop their gear and guests off at the launch site (Elderbank Park) and then drive their vehicle down to Dave's Landing on Wyse Road to meet the shuttle and be returned to the launch site. ​

Cost: $7/pp cash (please bring exact cash :))

​

Shuttle #1: Departing from Dave's Landing on Wyse Road at 9:50am. Arriving at launch site (Elderbank Park) at ~10:00am. 

​

Shuttle #2: Departing from Dave's Landing at 10:20am. Arriving at launch site (Elderbank Park) at ~10:30am.​​​

​

Shuttle #3: Departing from Dave's Landing at 10:50am. Arriving at launch site (Elderbank Park) at ~11:00am.

Boat Rentals *ONE CANOE LEFT / KAYAKS SOLD OUT*

Boat rentals must be reserved in advance. You can reserve by completing a rental request form at www.mvoutfitters.ca/rental-request or popping us an email at adventure@mvoutfitters.ca.

 

Breakfast Goodles!

Kathy's Sweets and Treats will be at Elderbank Park in the morning (9:30am–11am) selling breakfast goodies and coffee — perfect start to your day!

50-50 Tickets in Support of the Elderbank Recreation Club

The non-profit Elderbank Recreation Club will have 50-50 tickets for sale, with the winner announced at Dave’s Landing following the paddle.

​BBQ at Dave's Landing in Support of Grad Trip

Students from Musquodoboit Valley Rural Highschool will be hosting a BBQ at Dave's Landing in support of their Grade 12 Europe trip. So make sure you have some cash on hand to grab a hot dog and drink at the end of the paddle!

  • PFDs/Life Jackets required for all participants.

  • All participants are asked to abide by the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace (https://lnt.org/why/7-principles/).

  • Be safe, kind, and have fun :)
